Matt, Many thanks for an excellent video, Alan
Great video! You make the process seem so easy. Thank you.
Vid #4 gets to around 16 minutes and then won’t load further. I tried several times. I turned off my laptop and started over 3 x and it still gets stuck at this point. Anyone else having this problem, or is it just my computer?
I like the gradual build up of values and contrast. Good instruction and clear. ThanksMatt
Kat, I am not having this problem.Did you resolve it yet, I hope.
Wow as always so clearly explained and demonstrated. Thank you!!
Matt, could you please give some indication of the size of your drawings? Clearly this beautiful landscape is quite small and size surely matters here.
Valerie
Great question. Hopefully Matt will answer.
Hi Valerie,
Sorry I missed this question. It is around 11″ by 9″.
Hi, Matt. I really like your drawing of the barn and trees. About how long did it take you to complete the drawing? Just curious. I’ll put in as much time as I need to feel that my drawing is complete. Really enjoying this so far.
Hi Karen,
This drawing took around 3-4 hours. A fairly short drawing.
I always seem to have a hard time trying to figure out a suitable background for a picture. I usually just hatch the background but I like the random tree look. Who knew scribble would make a neat tree!!
This is the first time I’ve used pen and ink. I really enjoyed the lesson and I’m very pleased with the result of my drawing. I feel it has given me the skills to try my own landscapes in this way. Your lessons are magic Matt!
Wow! wonderful lesson.
Just gorgeous…will give it a try. Thank you
Hi Matt – nice lesson! I noticed some of the marks are hatching but others cannot figure out. Are these scribble lines – how are you making these? I love pen and ink drawings due to the value contrast.
Great Job!
